Heidi McCallion, a licensed esthetician and hair stylist, wanted to freshen up her branding after moving her salon to a new location in San Diego. She wanted a customized look to her new branding based on her beauty essentials and heritage. A unique part of her business is the use of Swiss facial products, called Arise, that contains a rare flower named edelweiss–known for its medicinal purposes. Heidi’s ancestry is Swiss, and since edelweiss is Switzerland’s National flower, it was easy to choose this flower as Heidi’s main branding image.
I used watercolors to create the flowers and edited the final images in Photoshop. The client wanted black, white and blue colors to match the salon’s interior decor that she worked hard on. I designed her branding, created business cards and menus, shot and retouched photographs, and redesigned her website.
